What to see in Rome

In our house, you will have the chance to spend your holiday without having to use the car thanks to the the central location of Domus Vita Romana, in a district very well served and quiet of Rome, with shops, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.
All the monuments and streets most important and significant of Rome can be reached either on foot or by bus or subway.

Here are some examples of what you might see in a short time:

  • Vatican Museums 140 meters
  • St. Peter’s Basilica 900 meters
  • Castel Sant’Angelo is just 15 minutes’ walk
  • Via Cola di Rienzo (one of the most elegant commercial street of Rome) in only 15 minutes’ walk

 

For the monuments little more distant from our house, if you wish, you can use the buses or metro. In fact, in less than 500 meters you can reach the “Ottaviano” station (Metro A) or Piazza Risorgimento where you will find many buses.

For example:

  • Piazza del Popolo is just two Metro A stops from Ottaviano. Here you can visit the historical center of Rome (Villa Borghese, Via del Corso, Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Foro Romano, Colosseo…)

From our house you can reach every corner of Rome easily and quickly as specified below:

  • Vatican Museums
    Domus Vita Romana is close the entrance of the Vatican Museums (only 140 meters !!!) To reach them you’ll require only 2 minutes – will be enough to walk for a few meters, turn right to get to Viale Vaticano and after a few steps on your left the entrance of the Museums.
  • Basilica of Saint Peter
    Just 900 meters from our home and you’ll arrive to the Basilica in only 10 minutes.
  • Castel Sant’Angelo
    You’ll arrive at this destination in only 15 minutes – For those who want it can take bus number 23 from Piazza Risorgimento (very close to our house) and in two stops you’ll arrive at your destination.
  • Piazza del Popolo / Via del Corso
    To reach these two destinations, the most important of Rome, you can use the bus number 81 (from Piazza Risorgimento) and get off after only 6 stops. Otherwise you can use the metro line for only two stops (the Metro Ottaviano)
  • Piazza di Spagna / Via del Corso
    They are easily accessible with the bus 913 and just 7 stops and a little walk you can admire one of the most fascinating destinations in Rome. If you prefer, as an alternative to the bus, you can use the metro line A to Ottaviano and get off at stop SPAGNA.
  • Vittoriano (Piazza Venezia)
    One of the most important monuments of Rome and it is easily accessible from our home with the bus number 81 (which can take you from Piazza Risorgimento) and you’ll arrive after only 12 bus stops.
  • Colosseo / Palatino / Foro Romano
    These monuments of ancient Rome can be reached from our house through the line 81 and you’ll arrive at this destinations after 19 stops.
  • Bocca della Verità / Tempio di Vesta
    You can reach this monuments with the bus 23 and in only 9 stops it will take you to your destination.
  • Basilica di San Giovanni
    One of the most important basilicas of Rome – You can reach it through the metro line A to Ottaviano and only after 9 stops you’ll admire it.
  • Via Veneto / Piazza Barberini
    You can reach them by the Metro and 4 stops you will arrive at your destination
  • Piazza Navona
    From our house is reached by only 7 stops of line 492 (Piazza Risorgimento).
  • Ara Pacis / Mausoleo di Augusto / Via Ripetta / Via del Corso
    You’ll have two options to reach these monuments, or use the line 81 for 8 stops or 492 for 4 stops.
  • Pantheon
    One of the monuments of ancient Rome’s most famous in the world – From our house is accessible with the bus 492 that will take you to your destination in just 7 stops.
  • Villa Borghese / il Pincio
    Two most important parks in Rome – It can either go through the bus 490 (which you can catch in front of the metro station Ottaviano) and just 8 stops you will arrive at your destination.
  • MAXXI Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo
    You can reach this important Museum of Rome through the Metro and get off at Flaminio (2 stops) and from there take line 2.

 

  • Vaticano (Vatican Museums, Basilica of San Pietro e Castel Sant’Angelo)
  • Buses terminus: 19, 32, 34, 40, 62, 81, 87, 115, 590, 982, 990
